I had so many eyerolling moments because these people were supposed to be grown-ups, but ended up being annoying instead. It also reads as if the sex the first time was part of the catalyst for Jamie's original spiraling, and for them to get to the smexy times now (with Jamie being depressed), with no conversation was just fucking ridiculous and it 'watered down' whatever explanation that was to come for Jamie's past decisions (I never got to it, and I simply don't care.) They do not have ONE fucking conversation about their past before having sex (and in my mind sex = being vulnerable! Which should be an issue for Jamie.) I understand that Jamie is depressed, but I seriously don't believe that they would could just sleep together and then carry on their relationship *la-di-daaah* without serious consequenses, for Jamie especially. I don't know if this should be a spoiler, since it's quite obvious that that's what happened, and then this whole story (until 47% when I gave up) is them not talking about any of it! So Jamie tried to take his own life after the first time they slept together, years ago. “Not ever.” Brett sucked in a breath and then nodded. “I don’t want to talk about it,” Jamie muttered.

It's been a while, since I last opened this book, but going through my highlights again have me quite secure in my decision, the last one reads:

I will never understand why authors believe that MCs being HOT are a resonable substitute for conversations? Grovelling? Talking? Discussions? Arguments? I HATE the decisions made for the MCs, and the story reads farfetched and unbelievable, which is pretty impressive considering it's a contemporary romance.

Almost three months, and I'm calling time of death at around 47%!
